While The Witcher 3 next-gen update promised better graphics and performance on all supported platforms, the PC version of the update seems to have quite a few issues. Fortunately, it looks like a next-gen update patch for “The Witcher 3” is on the way, and it should get rid of the major issues surrounding the new update.
A tweet from CD Projekt RED’s global community manager Marcin Momot reveals that the update is “in the final stages.” It’s worth noting that Momot didn’t actually mention that the patch is for the PC version only, so it’s possible that this update will roll out on other platforms as well.
We’ve been quietly working on this update for W3NG and it looks like we’re in the final stages. It shouldn’t be long before it comes out. We will share more information as soon as we can! In the meantime, we really appreciate your patience! https://t.co/QGWXHnDbPN

The tweet didn’t really give an exact timeline for the announcement or the update itself, but Momot promises that “it shouldn’t be long until it comes out.” Until then, players will either have to play with the issues that still exist or wait for the patch to fix everything that matters.
While the PC version of The Witcher 3 is a little rough around the edges, it runs really well on consoles, especially the PS5. In our PS5 review of the next-gen version of the game, we gave it a perfect score of 10/10. Below is the entire verdict:
One of the best RPGs of the last generation and one of my favorite games of all time, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s next-gen update/port makes what many considered a perfect game even better. For the new players, they will be able to experience exactly what all the talk was about, only in a superior and final version of the game. For the old players, this update gives you the perfect excuse to put in hundreds, if not thousands, of hours once again.
The Witcher 3 is available now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC. The next-gen update launched on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC last year.
