Survivors, rejoice! Following positive fan and critical reception, HBO’s The Last of Us adaptation has been renewed for a second season. Additionally, The Last of Us HBO Season 2 will likely cover the events of 2020’s The Last of Us Part 2 according to a tweet from series creator Neil Druckman.

Only two episodes into HBO’s The Last of Us is already being hailed as the end of the video game adaptation curse. Starring Game of Thrones alumni Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsay as Ellie, the series covers the events of the first game starting at the very beginning of the Cordyceps outbreak.
Naughty Dog boss Neil Druckman tweeted a spectacular visual to celebrate the series for another season, apparently confirming that season 2 will cover the events of The Last of Us Part 2:
