In celebration of the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dead by the Rabbit event will begin on January 24th by the light of the moon on January 24th. The event will bring new rabbit-themed outfits, as well as the return of the previous Lunar Year’s cosmetics, full of blood spots. Red envelopes, fan-pleasing paper lanterns and more, and will end on February 7th.

From January 17 (11:00 ET/8:00 PT) to January 24 (11:00 ET/8:00 PT), The lobby will undergo a Rosh Hashanah change. In addition, previously released Lunar Cosmetic Collection outfits will be available for sale in the Dead by Daylight in-game store. Dead by Daylight’s social media pages will also be giving away codes for Lunar New Year cosmetics from the Scarlet Swarm, Gilded Stampede, and Lurking Stripes Event.

Until the Moonlight Burrow event begins, players will receive an increased XP bonus for their first match of the day each day. After the event starts on January 24th, players can log in every day until February 7th to claim a reward of 50K Bloodpoints each day (for a total of 700K).

Select outfits from previous Lunar New Year collections will be for sale (Auric Cells only) in the Dead by Daylight in-game store throughout the pre-celebration and Moonlight event. For a full list of discounted Lunar New Year outfits, check out the in-game store for details.

Map design, red envelopes and paper lanterns:
During a moonlight event, generators, hooks and exit gates will be decorated with moon-themed decorations.
The new year exclusive red envelopes will return to the bloodline for the duration of the event. Upon burning a red envelope bid, a red envelope visible to all players will be created in the experiment. For players burning red envelopes, the aura of the respective envelopes will be visible to them. The owner can interact with their envelope to reveal it. Once you do, a sound effect will play throughout the sentence and the Envelope aura will be revealed to all players.
An envelope can be opened and claimed by another player. When an envelope is claimed, the owner receives a reward of 5000 blood points, and the recipient receives a random number of additional blood points. The owner of the envelope will also receive a lunar event reward detailed below:

The paper lantern is a new interactive object. It spawns during an experiment in place of an unused totem and can be interacted with by the slayer and the survivor. After interacting with a paper lantern, players will receive a set of buffs for a short time: Haste movement speed boost and Vaulting speed boost.
