While Bloober Team has already confirmed that combat in the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake, it looks like it doesn’t end there, as the studio will also be remaking the enemy AI from the ground up!
This was confirmed in an interview with original Team Silent member producer Motoi Okamoto, concept artist Masahiro Ito and composer Akira Yamaoka,
Okamoto: “We’re recreating the enemy AI from the ground up so that it’s designed in a way that allows players to enjoy the combat. Bloober Team’s love for the original is strong, so they’re not just going to add new enemies. However, they’re looking at fine details that can help make the combat enjoyable, Which means changing AI or small design elements. It might look the same, but it’s different when you look closely. They really did a good job throughout the game.”
In the same interview, Ito mentioned that from what they’ve seen so far, the in-development remake looks to be a more interesting experience than the original SH2.
slow down: “I think the remake ended up being a more interesting experience than the original.”
Silent Hill 2 doesn’t have a release date yet, but it should be coming to PS5 and PC.
