Following yesterday’s Developer Direct event, a new Xbox Showcase has been announced to take place in Los Angeles later this year in the summer. While the last such display was held at E3 2019, Xbox has not indicated whether the display will be held as part of the convention. Bethesda’s standalone Starfield show remains “in the works.”
The Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct event revealed the release dates (with fresh gameplay footage) for Redfall (May 2) and Minecraft Legends (April 18), a new Forza Motorsport game and the new Necrom expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online. It also unveiled Tango Gameworks’ rhythm shooter Hi-Fi Rush, which was released immediately after the conference via Xbox Game Pass.
While Xbox promised a standalone show for Bethesda’s Starfield title, it also teased other projects that are in the works and will be revealed this summer. There hasn’t been a full Xbox Summer Showcase in years: the last such event was at E3 in June 2019, where the studio showed fans 60 incredible game projects. While the planned showcase is unlikely to be on a similar scale, Xbox gamers now have a lot more to look forward to regardless.
As for right now, you can check out the full details of yesterday’s live developer reveals here.
