If you’ve been wondering where the hardcore mode is in the latest Call of Duty game, you’re not the only one. Fortunately, that’s about to change next month, as Modern Warfare 2’s hardcore mode has been confirmed for Season 2 by Infinity Ward!
This is what the studio announced today on Twitter:
No HUD? No problem. Hardcore is back!
Stay tuned for Season 02 Multiplayer updates on our studio blog later this week.

As you can see, a blog post for new Season 2 multiplayer additions has been pushed to next week! Most likely we will also hear about the new map of season 2, new weapons and more!
Season 2 for both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, launching on February 15th, will also include Play Ranking for multiplayer, a smaller map for Warzone 2, new DMZ additions, and more! We got that last week, but be prepared for a deluge of information to drop in the coming week.
For those unfamiliar with how hardcore mode works in multiplayer shooters, it’s a more “realistic” take on gunfights, as it usually means that 1-2 rounds will be enough to take down an enemy. Not only that, but the HUD and interface are also taken out to make the game slower and a bit more tactical.
As soon as we know more information about the hardcore situation and any material that is being prepared for season 2, we will be sure to let our readers know.
