A new Granblue Fantasy game has just been announced, and it’s the sequel to the fighting game Granblue Fantasy: Versus. Titled Gran Blue Fantasy Vs: Rising, it is set to feature new characters, a new story, and a replay netcode.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is set to launch in 2023 on PS4, PS5 and PC. You can check out the reveal trailer below.

The trailer mentions that the game will support crossplay between all three platforms, though we’re not sure if this will be implemented at launch. Guilty Gear Strive, another popular fighting game, is still set to run a beta test for its crossover functionality on February 3rd. It is worth mentioning here that both GGST and Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising are developed by Arc System Works.

One interesting feature coming to Rising is the fancy lobby system. This allows players to communicate with each other and relax between games. There’s even a brand new game mode you can try out called “Grand Bruise Legends,” a battle royale mode with “plenty of action-packed mini-games.” Here’s a look at what it looks like:

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising will be a separate game, with the original Versus title receiving its final update on January 24th. This may disappoint some players, as the game was released less than three years ago on February 6, 2020.

As soon as we get more information about Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, we’ll let you know.
