Destiny 2 Lightfall is the next content expansion for the looter shooter, and while we can expect more guns, story progression, and other usual additions to the game, one interesting feature that arrived with the release of the update on February 28th is the Destiny 2 build updates.
The system is getting a slew of changes, including mod overhauls, customization options, and “new ways to kill champions.”
Here’s a rundown of what’s to come, via Bungie’s official article:
- Unification is a central theme in many of the changes you will see today.
- The current (pre-Lightpool) mod system was built piecemeal over the years and contains a lot of redundancy.
- The Loadouts system empowers Guardians to adapt to any mission, on the fly.
- Up to ten slots are available to save multiple loads.
- This single-screen system also provides opportunities for players to create and share their loadout with the community more easily.
- The Mod Customization screen will make it easy to manage your mods with them all in one place.
- Like the Guardian Appearance screen, this screen creates an easy-to-reference space where you can see all of your armor pieces and bikes at any given time.
- A champion’s counters are distributed among artifact perks, subclass abilities, and more.
- Mod updates streamline the process and bring exciting new building potential to Destiny 2.
- We take the opportunity to touch and tune every single mod in Destiny 2.
- We’re removing energy types from gauges and armor, giving players more flexibility in creating their build. No more switching between energy types to find the mod you want.
- We’re reducing the stress on Armor Energy by readjusting armor mod costs and changing Artifact perks so they no longer require mod slots.
- We are moving from weapon type specific mods to damage type specific mods to increase flexibility in construction.
