One of the many things that changed in Overwatch 2 from the original game was its ranked system, and as you might expect from a competitive game, not everyone is happy with it. A recent tweet reveals that there will be a blog post about changes to Overwatch 2’s competitive mode coming pretty soon, but it won’t include the system going back to Overwatch 1’s original design.

The announcement of the blog post was made by OW2 executive producer Jared News in response to a tweet criticizing the game’s matchmaking system.

The Overwatch 2 developers have been quite open about feedback and conversation about the game’s updates and direction on Twitter. Neuss also revealed earlier this month that the game will receive updates in Season 3 that will address the lack of rewards. Another conversation on Twitter with lead hero designer Alec Dawson mentioned that the game will be releasing more support heroes in the near future. This statement would later be confirmed in an interview with Aaron Keller, the game’s director, who mentioned that the next two heroes would be Supports.

We don’t know the details about Overwatch 2’s competitive mode and staggered system updates, but once we learn more, we’ll let you know.

Overwatch 2 is available now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
