It looks like players won’t be able to fully experience the mobile versions of Apex Legends and Battlefield, as both Apex Legends Mobile and Battlefield Mobile are shutting down!
This was announced by EA, where they stated that even with the strong start of Apex Legends Mobile, the ongoing experience will not meet the expectations of our players.
Here are the important parts of the announcement:
Despite Apex Mobile’s strong start, the ongoing experience fell short of our players’ expectations. After months of working with our development partner, we made the mutual decision to invest in the mobile game. Our love for the Apex universe and our players remains unchanged. We look forward to exploring this universe, its characters and its stories with you. (Learn more Here)
We’ve also made the decision to stop development on the current Battlefield mobile title. As the industry evolved and our strategy to create a deeply connected Battlefield ecosystem took shape, we decided to transition from the current direction to best fulfill our vision for the franchise and to meet the expectations of our players.
This is surprising news, as Apex Legends Mobile even has a release schedule planned. As for Battlefield Mobile, what we’ve seen of it looks interesting enough to assume it will be released to everyone at some point.
